Commissioner Focus for April/May

• The commissioner's focus for the April Meeting is Summer Camping, especially Day Camp and Overnight Camp for Cubs and Provisional Camp for Scouts BSA (weeks 3 and 5) 

• Each commissioner connection this month will seek to push summer camping. This is why we emphasize making as many visits to Packs as you possibly can. 

• Make use of the Outdoor Connections Guide. 

• Quick registration links and links to more info are at manatoc.org/summer. 

For Commissioner Troop visitations this month

1. Prompt each Scoutmaster or Committee Chair to enter the date of their last outdoor activity in their unit dashboard. 

2. Push provisional camping at Manatoc this summer in weeks 3 and 5

3. Record an outdoor connection that includes where the troop is attending summer camp in 2025.

For Commissioner Pack visitations this month

1. Prompt each Cubmaster or Committee Chair to enter the date of their last outdoor activity in their unit dashboard. 

2. Review the Summary of the Pack's Attendance and planned attendance from the Camping Activity spreadsheet.

3. Fill out the worksheet for your units to help organize your thoughts and for comparison with May data results next month.

4. Encourage the Pack to stay open all summer and to publish a calendar of activities for the summer to all their Cub Families in May. A good website to recommend for the Pack Leaders is manatoc.org/cub-summer. 

5. District Commissioner will report in May on the number of connections and positive outcomes (more sign ups)

6. Commissioners record an outdoor connection (at least) summarizing what you learn about the Pack and whether they are planning to attend Day Camp or Overnight Camp.
